Unplanned and spontaneous road trips always make the best trips. Just a few weeks ago, I went to this beautiful place called Carmel-by-the-sea. Carmel-by-the-sea is a small beach city on Monterey's peninsula. The City is approximately 1-2 hours away from the city of San Jose. It was a school weekend when I decided I need a breathe of fresh air from my hectic school schedules.

With the support of the lovely weather that day, I drove to the first stop, Point Lobos State Natural Reserve Park. With an entrance of fee of $10 per person, I was able to enjoy the view of the scenic coastal area of Monterey from this Park.

Right after my visit to Point Lobos Park, I head to big sur for a sunset dinner at a cliffside restautant called Nepenthe. The view from the restaurant was breathtaking. I spent 2 hours there munching on light snacks while watching the sun set.

Tips: it's better to make a reservation prior to arrival to secure the best spot at restaurant.
